Our Grand Junction Location
While our sitters are unique individuals, they share a common goal: to provide an engaging, stimulating and compassionate experience for your child with special needs.
You can rest easy that your child is being treated with dignity and patience. When a child is showing signs of frustration, our sitters want to understand why a child feels frustrated. They have the ability to empathize with a child who can't communicate clearly and the skill to redirect a child who is showing signs of getting worked up.
Please take a moment to meet our qualified team of sitters in the Grand Junction area:
(Grand Junction) I have worked with children with special needs for 8 years ... each disability ranging from minimally impacted, to moderately impacted. I am patient, caring, and loving, and willing to go above and beyond.
(Grand Junction / Palisade) I have been living in the Grand Junction area (Palisade mostly) for about 16 years now. I am a recent graduate from Colorado Mesa University with a degree in Adapted Physical Education and a degree K-12 Physical Education. I also have a beautiful two-year-old named Oliver.
I have some experience with tutoring students that have specialized needs which inspired me to pursue a teaching career in special education. I love the rewarding experience of seeing a student wrestle with concepts or tasks and then finally understanding or accomplish them. The attitudes of many of the students and life lessons that I can learn from them also solidify my desire to work in this field.
I am also proficient in ASL (American Sign Language) and somewhat familiar with the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture here in the Grand Junction area. My own signing is slow, but I can understand quite a bit. I am First Aid/CPR certified.
I have a passion for working with youth, especially students that have special needs, and am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Specialized Sitters and hopefully the opportunity to work with your children!
(Grand Junction) Hi, my name is Nicole. My two passions in life are children (emphasis on special needs) and Deaf culture/Sign Language. I live in the Grand Junction area. I have 3 kiddos (15B, 9B, 6G) who are the light of my life. I have been working with kids since High School when I interned and volunteered at a local school for the hearing impaired. I love seeing a child's face light up when a skill they have been working on finally clicks. I have deep compassion, patience and understanding for special needs children as 2 of my own have special needs; and the battles I've endured fighting for their rights and educating those that are in their lives on compassion, patience and understanding of their differences.
I have had experience with Autism Spectrum disorders for 15 years, learning and behavioral disabilities for 9+ years. Working with the Deaf/hard of hearing since 1997, General education in a childcare setting for 7+ years.

I am in Grand Junction, CO on the Western Slope. My name is Kaci and I am a teacher at Fruitvale Elementary. I have just completed my fourth year! WOOHOO! My mother owns her own clinic in Colorado Springs that caters to children with special needs. She is a physical therapist, but she employs Speech and Occupational therapists as well. She's owned this business longer than I have been alive, that being said, I was raised in her clinic. Some of my best friends were children with autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, among many others. I learned how to play, engage, and more recently, teacher students with these special traits! I am going to begin my a journey in achieving my Masters Degree in Special Education next summer. I can't wait to start meeting all the lovely families on the Western Slope!
